Our Story

Established in 2015 in Helsinki, Finland, LKOS Law Office is a family-owned boutique business law firm dedicated to advising companies, owners and management teams.

The foundations of LKOS Law Office were laid years earlier. Our story began with a chance meeting in Riga, Latvia in November 2011, where the founding partners discovered a shared vision: to build a first-class business law firm in Helsinki that combines legal expertise, international experience and a commitment to delivering tailored, strategic legal services for corporate clients.

Our journey started in modest premises on Hämeentie, followed by a move to Unioninkatu in 2017. In 2024, we relocated to our current office at Töölönkatu 4, where we continue to serve clients with clarity, commitment and high-quality business law expertise.

As a family-owned firm, our values shape everything we do. Over the years, our family has grown alongside our practice. Our three children have been part of our journey from the beginning, learning firsthand what it means to build, nurture and lead a business. This personal touch is reflected in our culture, our dedication to our work and the long-term relationships we build with our clients.

25.11.2011 The future founding partners meet for the first time in Riga, Latvia.
3.2.2015 LKOS Law Office is founded. The first office opens on Hämeentie in Helsinki.
2016 Our first major client success: a significant damages claim is settled favourably.
2017 New office premises open on Unioninkatu, Helsinki.
2017 Our first summer trainee joins the firm.
2018 Our first feature interview is published in Kauppalehti, Finland’s leading business daily.
2019 Liene Krumina becomes a Helsinki Business Specialist (Doing Business International).
2019 Oscari Seppälä and LKOS Law Office receive recognition from International Advisory Experts.
2020 Oscari is awarded “Transport Law Lawyer of the Year in Finland” by Global 100.
2020 LKOS Law Office is awarded “Transport Law Firm of the Year” by Global Law Experts.
2021 LKOS Law Office again receives the “Transport Law Firm of the Year” award from Global Law Experts.
2021 Liene Krumina is granted Finnish citizenship.
2022 Multiple international publications rank LKOS Law Office among the leading transport law firms in Finland.
2023 Oscari prepares an expert opinion for an insurance company for use before the Finnish Financial Ombudsman Bureau (FINE).
2024 New office premises open at Töölönkatu 4, Helsinki.
